Little River, TX
For the Pioneer system to work bacteria has to be growing on every location that is usual for mold to grow. It is a good theory and it does work up to a point.

My rig is a 25 gal tank on the baler, with a electric pump and 2 active spray points and one plugged spray point. I would have needed the third nozzle for higher moisture levels. How I changed the application rate was to change the number of strokes per bale. I was set up for 20% moisture bale and 15 strokes per bale. At 22% moisture I would use 18 to 20 strokes per bale. Above 22% moisture is way too much trouble and too many problems, All of which were mentioned by Mike.
Round bales need to be lower in moisture than small squares and big bales must be even drier than RBs and small bales.
One thing that is supposed to really work is tarp the stack and shoot it with anhydrous .
