Around here the popular program is self feed on whole corn/pellet diet. Give them a little hay or straw to 'chew' on, otherwise the will lick a telephone pole in two looking for some roughage. A buddy of mine in NE says give them the best alfalfa you can find as they will benefit from the calicum. I have not put that to the test yet but will someday.
