| There are two timing marks on the frame by the plunger arm. The plunger arm should be straight up, between the two marks. Then there are punch marks on the knotter and the knotter drive sproket. Line those up by moving the chain on the sprocket. If they won't line up, that is if one tooth is too much and the next tooth isn't enough, time it retarded rather than advanced. There is no timing to do on the feed rack on a 268, like there is on the 68. You can get a book from New Holland as well as E-Bay, the last one I bought from them was $14, but that was probably ten years ago. | |
