We are about straight west of you Gromit. We battled mud all spring planting..........and our last measurable precip was 1.5" on May 23. Ground is definitely drying out here, but it is nothing compared to 25 miles west of here. We have grass that is reaching belly to chest high..........crazy. 25 miles and farther west of here, their wheat is about 6" tall, headed out, and brown. All of their pastures are brown and dead. Their corn and beans...........could make something with a rain, but I wouldn't hold my breath. We'll catch something at some point within the next two weeks. Yes, the dry spell may ding the corn 5-10 bushel, but he soybeans aren't hurt yet. It's awefully scary when there is a full fledged drought less than a half hour away from you.
