nw pa | I would be scared to death of trying to store any of the urea type fertilizers on the ground.They attract moisture like crazy. In your climate I would think the fertilizer guy is right.If you want to try a little then by all means but don't get carried away. Most around here who store for any lenght of time run it through a screen first and then grind what doesn't pass.they use this in starter fertilizer that needs blended any way. A spreader full of urea even with a tarp on it will be lumpy in a week or two. Have had it happen.They take it back and run it through the screen again. Most smaller spreaders will not handle many lumps,if they don't get caught in the door then they bridge at the divider.
Wood is still the best for fertilizer storage,seems to take the moisture from the fertilizer. | |
