I think the main difference is the machinery has to be *easy to repair*.

While our new high tech machinery needs a computer to get fixed, their's can get fixed with a hammer and a bolt. Doesn't need high skilled mechanics to mend it.

By the way, did you check their machines? Look very close to some older *western* technology..... wouldn't be surprised JD or CIH are recycling their old assembly lines this way... Was surfing the net yesterday evening and saw the DON 1500B which reminded me of some JD combines. The new cabs look like tweens to JD's!

Some decades ago, FIAT had 'exported' it's old 128 car assembly line to Poland.... became the Polski-Fiat ... same engine was said to be in the russian LADA Niva....
