Subject: hey newguy, i semi-no-till some navies this year

i hit the cornstalks two times last fall with a salford rts machine, this spring i put down some prowl, touchdown and fert. before i used my hiniker no-till drill to drill them in. they seem to be coming up pretty good. the only problem i had was when we put on fert. and chemical, some of the lambsquarter was pretty big and the full rate of touchdown seemed to just piss it off, so it didn't die and hasn't started to throw out new leaves yet, but we are going to come back in with some rezult and reflex and try and hammer it down. i strip-till also, and i think that would be a better way to go then doing what i did with the hiniker. i wanted to try it this way and see if i narrowed up the row spacing i would have better weed control then with 30 in. i have had a neighbor plant with 22 in. and that worked great but then i had to do full tillage practices which i am not wanting to do, but i think next year i will just plant them on my 30 in. strips.
