| What I am trying to say is that the power hop phenomenon appears at the interface between the tire and the soil. When with a rigid front axle, it will make the whole tractor jump up and down. Now put a suspension on the front axle: it prevents the hop from reaching the tractor frame; however it is still happening at the soil-tire interface. Front axle suspensions do help a little bit with power hop, but it does not solve the problem completely. Power hop builds up over several oscillation cycles; a suspension can offer some damping to prevent part of that build-up. However proper inflation and ballast is likely to have a better effect in the end (yeah I know the sweet spot is not always easy to find).
