ILS helps drastically with power hop allowing faster field speeds. It also offers a great ride. We have a John Deere 8335r with ILS and you can ride over a ditch with the front axle and never feel it, but you still have the same bumpy ride with the rear axle. Another area it comes in handy is when using a 3 point hitch toolbar style implement such as an anhydrous applicator because even when we load our 16 shank toolbar on our 8335r, the front tires stay in constant contact with the ground.
