| Yes, if you're expecting more out an STS, you were advised incorrectly. That is quite close to the maximum capacity of that processing system to maintain acceptable losses. It can be easily overloaded and is short on separating and cleaning system capacity. Pay no attention to the class system either as it pertains to combines. It says nothing about a machine's capabilities for capacity, so it can't be used to compare one machine to another. An STS is at the lower end of the spectrum for machine capacity in most crops; there are a few situations in which they can stay with the pack, but high yielding corn is where it falls short. | |
