Whatever you do, don't give up and let her have her way. She needs to know beyond any doubt that she is not in charge, you are. You and your wife need to stick together and present a united front-even if you disagree in private.

She also needs to know that crying and pouting does not work. You should never, never give in no matter how big of tantrum she throws. If you do, you are training her that 'acting out' is how to get her way, and you will get a lot more of it.

Parenting is a very difficult job. You are doing the right thing by seeking counsel.
