Subject: RE: corn grinding on 9650 sts

We buy a lot of feed corn for the piggies and here are a few observations --

Absolute worst corn quality -- JD 9600 series. They grind like none other. The 9500 is better but still bad. It's not operator error....I've never seen a good sample from a JD 9600.

The best corn quality is from some guys that have a Gleaner. The corn is nearly perfect (clean sample and no cracks).

Axial Flow combines have very very good corn quality, too. The old standard rotor is great for corn, but not much of a treat for green stemmed beans.

JD rotary -- they are better than the JD conventional, but have a long way to go to catch up the the red and silver rotors.
