A couple of lives MIGHT have been saved. Hard to say but with the firepower he had and the way he unleashed it, must of the people would have already been dead by the time the CC people got their weapons out and unlocked and aimed. More guns was not the answer to the problem here.

I can draw FROM concealment , aim , fire 2 shots CM in about 1.5-2 seconds . It's all ONE MOTION.
Only in Ill( and other commie states ) does one have to have their gun AND ammo , LOCKED in SEPARATE locations 8~(
I doubt ANY CCW holder would try to engage from across the room , only if near by , and opportunity presented it's self.
If , as has been reported , shooter walked up and down the aisles shooting, he obviously walked PAST MANY who he did not shoot.
There's your opportunity.
