Subject: Safety?

Southern Alberta
I think that if you look close enough you family is actually more likely to die in a serious accident in a suburban or tahoe than a new minivan. Minivans are designed to haul families and are safety tested in almost every way an have all the air bags, safety bars etc to help. Most suburbans and tahoes fall under the truck category and do not have to pass many safety test ratings.

For most people there is no question the minivan is the best family vehicle. It is just an image thing, a lot of people would never drive one because it is a family transporter. A lot of kids won't drive a 4 door vehicle either. Depends if you want practical or image. Don't buy a van if you don't like the image and don't buy a suburban or tahoe based on safety, it just isn't any safer.
