| Rich, the surburban in question in this case is an '89 model I believe. It's basically the '73+ body style with a '88+ grille. Leaf springs all around with solid front axle. Older subs like this just don't ride as nice as your newer torsion bar IFS front end equipped subs. IMO, traction is not an issue on dry level ground. I would wager my Impala can go anywhere a 4x4 sub in 2wd can go as long as ground clearance is not an issue. Most 4x4's are pathetically helpless in 2wd. I always figured it must have something to do with the front drive axle being dead weight without power to it. I bet in mud my Impala could run circles around the 4x4 sub in 2wd. | |
