Subject: Re: soybean seed

Pioneer has always "guarenteed" 2800 seeds per pound when selling soybeans in 50 pound units. Meaning if the seed was 2400 seeds per pound you got discounted enough money to get back to 2800 seeds per pound. So there was never a disadvantage to buying in 50 pound units, only an advantage in the seed happened to be small. Many beans were a much better buy compared to 140,000 seed count. It's all a mute point now however. I think Pioneer should get credit for holding out as long as they did.
