Haven't heard of injecting liquid protien product before. Generally speaking, liquid products are expensive per unit of nutrition due to the extra handling costs.

There have been a number of studies done feeding stover with ddg's and other byproducts. I'll have to do some research, but remember them as a good alternative to harvested forages in the sense of reducing carrying costs for beef cows. As I remember also, one of the articles focused on a producer here in Iowa that did not bale any alfalfa or grass, only fed corn stock bales and protien/ddg's/grains.
