Subject: RE: soybean seed trench smear

The last few year's I've "slopped" in some April beans under far less than ideal conditions but I've done it right ahead of a rain and it's worked out good.  Alot of people think we are nuts for trying to start on beans about the same time most people start planting corn but over the past 10 years those early beans have been our best every single year.  Just like with corn it seems like we can get by running in less than ideal conditions with much better luck early in the year than we can once we get into May.
