Darn good post though and that has been my experience, too. I couldn't said it better. Each year I work with those fields you can see the water disapper in the profile better. About three years 1000-2000 lb application and your non treated stands in water and your treated doesn't. Really stores water deep. Our biggest rain since Sept 06 was last week, 1.2 inches.

04 20 inches
05 8 inches
06 30 inches
07 6 inches

My friend in Iowa has calcium levels 50 inches deep higher than my 10 inch depth. He hauls gypsum and he built it with gypsum.
