good point on evening out the load. However, what I've found (just me) is I get too much shatter loss at the head if I can't keep the speed reasonable. The cylinder seems to be feeding reasonably well.  Cutting on a bias to the slope tends to shove everything thing to one side of the shoe regardless, but only cutting up hill is not really reasonable either.

A big new shiny combine on flat ground could solve all my problems. Except cash flow that is. Laughing
