Blue Earth, MN | We are currently harvesting corn in the 200-240 across the field on bean stubble that had 120 lbs of total N (2/3rds at planting and 1/3 sidedress). That is approximately 0.55 lb/bu (actually thinking we may have had a little too much N). There are way more factors determining yield then looking strictly at N numbers and especially knocking one system over another because it didn't "work". I see so many producers will preach the same thing yet forget about all the other factors that have influenced their yield and profit/acre. In case you haven't noticed, genetics will evenutally be N sufficient. Monsanto has been showing test data for a few years showing little to no N will be necessary. We are in a transition period... | |
