I think the recommendations from a soil test for your local soil conditions would be the best idea. Don't put very much N, K, or S down with the seed. A lot of fall nitrogen tends to grow a lot of straw. Top dress N early in the spring. The previous crop and how it was fertilized is also a big factor.
No silver bullets.
