I'll tell you why many farmers dislike Monsanto. I'm not sure it is so much dislike, but rather mistrust. Anytime one company is providing superior products and gaining market share, consumers worry that when they monopolize the field, competition will suffer and in in the end we will all have poorer products and service.

Many examples are found in our world. Walmart immediately comes to mind. Also Microsoft had such superior products and were able to buy out most competitors, that when they gained almost complete market dominance, their products became expensive and no longer satisfied customers. Of course now Google is raising its head and we'll have to see where that leads.

For the time being, Monsanto does provide good products and service. Once they have eliminated a lot of the competition, we'll see how I feel. For the time being, whenever I can buy what I feel is an equal product from a competing company, I will do that to delay the inevitable.
