| I posted around 9/11 that I sprayed some milo with roundup to speed up grain drydown and dry up the green leaves and said I would update with results. We cut the sprayed portion of the field on 9/24. Sprayed area moisture was 15.8% nonsprayed 17%. The sprayed area had a lot of lodged milo, had to run on the ground in many places. The green milo right beside it is standing perfect. We haven't cut the non-sprayed portion yet, just a little bit to check the moisture. Test weight was excellent where we killed with roundup, 60.3 lbs/bu, so we must not have done it too early. The first two nights after I sprayed, the lows were in the 40's, so the roundup worked very slowly as the plants stopped growing for a while.
I may try it again if conditions warrant, but very disapointed with the lodging.
