Yes, you can submit a link in that way.  You might also notice the "upload a file" checkbox below.  Check that, and after you submit text, you can then upload a picture, or an Excel or Word file, for example.  It is a great new powerful feature of this board.

Also, look in the rich text boxes on a post or reply, for a chain and a tree command.  Click on those to experiment with ways to insert an image in a post, or a file.

You only see the rich text icons when you check that in Control Panel.  They can be toggled on or off.  You turn off rich text if you are on slow dial-up, to save time.  If you can possibly use rich text, by all means turn them on, they have lots of great features.  Be sure to also download the spell checker, unless you always won the spelling bee in school!
