Subject: Sidedress w/ Sprayer....what do you think?

Callao, Missouri
I am thinking about sidedressing some of our best corn with our Spra-Coupe. I will leave every 3rd nozzle open to get 60" centers, and attach about 2' of NH3 hose to those nozzles to get a stream below the canopy. I was thinking about putting on another 35-40lb N, should I add water (will adding water reduce volitilization (sp) loss? ), how much do you think I would loose without any method of incorporation? This is conventional corn that is about knee to waist high.

An update: I used 6" of NH3 hose with t-barbs on the end to topdress my wheat this spring. I think the wheat was probably too far along to get full utilization though. If you looked closely in the field, you could see burned splotches, but non visible from the road. Next year I will order my Y-fittings, I think they will give me better distribution.
