Central Kansas | Von...the tractor has the bracket with the spring loaded hooks that capture both shift levers for park. I cannot tell about the snap rings on the left lever as it has a much larger diameter portion around it with the top 1/2 of the lever in a spring loaded ball situation. The right shift lever is as the diagram indicates with just a simple boot where it goes into the top of the transmission. This other lever must of have been part of the retrofit.....and apparently is the cause of my problem.
I will remove the plate on top and see what I can do...will report back also. Thanks Von, this is very helpful and eases my mind as to why anyone would engineer a POS set-up like this. I have had to kinda 'fight' the shifting deal, especially going into park, for the 10+ years I have owned this little beast. Handy tractor for lots of things with plenty of power, but if the wheels don't turn, you got nothing! | |
