Subject: Re: Integrating grid sampling with yield data?

Fairfield, Mt
I use zone sampling as opposed to grid sampling. Low, average, and high yield zones. I think it is great that you are wanting to ground-truth your testing with yield data. I have found a difference in the lower yielding areas compared to the higher yielding areas in the soil test results. Then I fertilize according to test results. I have increased the lower yielding areas production in the last three years, but it is still not as good as the higher yielding areas. I don't know if I'll ever get them together, but, I have increased production on the whole while decreasing fertilizer costs a little. Usually I change fertilizer blend as opposed to fertilizer rate in the different zones.
My plan of attack.
