Subject: RE: JD ATU on New Holland

I fought that same thing on our Buhler 435, which has the same steering wheel and column as the 8970, we did the knee under the wheel thing with, air hammers, regular hammers, posi-lock pullers, automotive style pullers, all the usual crap. The thing that worked, was talking to the engineers at buhler, and ordering a special puller. I think it was 35 bucks, our dealer acutally bought the puller and let us use it. When you get the puller designed for the wheel it comes right off, all we did was struggle with all the other stuff. This was tractor was brand new, drove it from the dealer to the shop to put the autosteer in it, so it has nothing to do with age.
