location | The machine control part of this equation will be the same from DGPS, through XP,HP, and RTK. What will differ between them all is the + or - spec of each GPS differential source. So your pass to pass will most likely make you happy if you accept the possibility that you may have to "nudge" or readjust somewhat on everthing but RTK. If you are not ridge till like us and say you conventional till or no till then I think you will be plenty happy. For us we need "inch" repeatability pass to pass and year to year because we always return to the same ridge for every operation.
One other thing. Depending on if or with what you plan to return to the planted field for other operations then you may want to buy the best differntial source that you are comfortable with spending. IE is your combine row numbers a common denominator of your planter row numbers? RTK will not need attention but the others will which is fine as long as you plan on that.
To put it another way if you planted the field and skipped every other pass or so and then came back a week, month, or year later and filled in the gaps that is when you will see the relative differences between the different differential systems.
