A lot of the early rock and roll groups came from Canada, Winnipeg and Ottawa mainly.
Paul Anka, Bobby Curtola were two from Ottawa and Neal Diamond, The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive (which were basically the same) and their Lead Singers.
Don't get the same play as oldie American Rock and Roll acts today but who can forget 'American Woman" or "Taking Care of Business".
And those great makers of Party Records, The Brothers-in-law!
The lead singer of the Diamonds is also the father of TOM HANKS
