Subject: RE: Cutting Hay

Grabill, Indiana
One mantra comes to mind when I am selling hay to anyone, but especially to "horse people". First, "The customer is always right". My training in nutrition tells me that very few horsed NEED early cut, extra leafy, hay in the 175 to 225 RFV range, but it is what the customer wants. I do my short talk about how it is too much for the horse then sell the customer what they desire.

Fortunately, I have more and more customers that will listen to my suggestions on hay for their horses. Maybe having that Ph.D. behind my name adds some credibility. Regardless, I am selling more grass and grass mixture hay to the horse market these days.
