Subject: RE: triticale for pasture?

Triticale is a cross between (cereal) rye and wheat.  It has growth habits similar to rye, but matures closer to wheat.  that is my take on it.

Some guys talk about and use annual ryegrass.  Those who advocate annual ryegrass say it will give a greater root mass than rye or wheat or ......

There are guys in my area who plant annual ryegrass for grazing, then rotate to another crop after they are done grazing it in the spring.   I would not want to let annual ryegrass go to seed.
