NE SD | We've done ours before after the beans were about 3" tall. Our reason was to push rocks into ground freshly out of sod that had been tilled before hand. I see we're starting to get some rocks poking up so it may be time to rent one again. We rent a 41' unit made by some shop in ND. With the wide tires and light weight of the 8220 you can't even tell there has been a tractor out there. Some say with a legume splitting the stem with something like a roller will induce a positive yield response. Not sure on that, but didn't see any loss in yield. Sure is interesting to here that "thunk thunk thunk" though as it hammers rocks into the ground. | |
