The AI turbo teejet is a very coarse spray but supposedly air filled drops that splatter out on the leaf. Out here in Kansas, we have such low humidity and high evaporation rates that one needs to use a coarse nozzle just to get the spray to the leaf. Yes, the older XR tips, etc give better coverage but we would lose quite a bit in that fog that they put out before the spray hit the leaf. I remember using the XR flat fans several years ago. When the sun was the right angle, you could see a fog for 50' behind you. Naturally that fog could go down to the target, or wander over to the neighbor or evaporate.
