Subject: RE: dairy manure

Volume seems to be an issue like 50,000 gallons per acre. Heavily manured ground this year during low volume of rain showed first signs of stress on corn. As for pH, dairy cattle are fed a great deal of calcium, the manure seems to raise the pH of the soil. Here in NW Iowa dairy manure is a positive, we use Ag Lime to increase soil pH. If you are currently dealing with high pH soils, that could be a huge problem. These dairy people are business people and everyone could win by working with this individual.
