had a slow leak on the top (that is freakin plastic) of my radiator in my 1998 Mack CH613. today it developed into a good leak. the leak is right under the inlet port.called radiator shop and they said to pull radiator out and they can repair or might have to replace just the top part of radiator. i am thinking drain the radiator partly and let everything dry a little. then go to work with sand paper or a wire brush and then use JB Weld. dont know if it will be permanent but only lack 7 days of harvest. thanks. Wallis, TX | NAPA store here sells a patch kit specially made for plastic radiators. Its got some fiberglass matt looking material for strength and the 'glue' remains soft almost rubber like.

central Iowa | My tank wasn't plastic and the product I used wasn't JB weld. Something like it, repaired upper tank probably 10 years ago. Still holding.

Pilot Grove, Missouri | I tried it a couple times on plastic auto radiators. Didn't work. I think the plastic expands and contracts with heat and pressure causing it to work loose pretty quickly. Patrick

ECIL | I wouldn't use JB Weld on plastic, however there are many two part epoxy products that are available, some are specifically designed to work on plastic. I have used several different epoxy adhesives over the years, and it is amazing how well some work. Just make sure it is an epoxy you have to mix together.

north east IN | Just take it off and get it fixed right the first time. Last year I rubbed a hole in the fuel tank on my silage truck,so how to fix? Don,t want to take the time to fix it right so went to napa and got some stuff to fix fuel tanks. Drained tank, fixed, let dry till next day. Worked till noon next day started to leak so drained tank put JB weld on let dry till next day. This worked the rest off silage chopping but forgot about it, well the first day this year hit the ground with tank and it started to leak so drained tank, took 10 min to take off took to welding shop and they had it fixed in 30 min took 20 min to put back on and it is fixed right, I should off done that the first time and it would off saved a lot off time and work.

Check with your local NAPA or parts store. They have a special rad tank repair kit available... It's an epoxy I think.... just a bit different formulation for PVC tanks. I picked one up intending to use it this spring... then discovered the tank was beyond repair anyhow... Stuff wasn't that expensive tho. Rod
