Subject: RE: Rinsing Sprayer between chemicals

A local Coop manager gave me a clean out method that sounds strange, but I have used it for years and it works.
After rinsing the system with your rinse tank in the field, wash the tank out, remove all nozzels and run clean water through the booms and refill the tank with water. Get a nurse tank of anhydrous amonia, use the hose that would connect the tank to an applicator and put it in the top of the spray tank so the end of the hose is submerged in the water. Crack the amonia valve and bubble in some anhydrous amonia. Carefully remove the hose and agitate the tank and fill the booms with the solution. It is best to let this soak overnight. Then run all this out the booms without the nozzels. Rinse again with clear water and you are good to go.
After doing this, you can spray roundup on beans with a sprayer that has just sprayed dicamba on corn and have no ill effects.
