Central Kansas
Timothy is a rare commodity in these parts...too hot and dry is my guess. Bermuda is horse hay south of us, but in a normal winter, it winter kills here. This leaves brome, which is used in waterways pretty exclusively around these parts. Needs P and K...and about 40-50 lbs N each early spring. Cut after heading but before seed is made. Makes great hay and it is sought after by most of the horse crowd. I am trying to wean some into a grass/legume mix and am starting to win some over.
