Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Surprised you got a bad relay. The relay could be tested with any 12V source such as a battery. Hook the coil to the + and - posts and you should be able to hear the realy click. Testing the output terminals with a continuity tester should confirm that the circuit is complete before installing.
The coil terminals should be indicated on the relay itself or the packaging.
