Subject: Gleaner R52 rear feed chain floor issues

Ludington/Manistee MI area
We where giving the R52 a bath in prepartion for wheat harvest and came accross a alarming discovery. We noticed that the floor of the rear feed chain has a grapefruit size hole in it toward the front of it. Thinking of dropping the feeder house to get better access to the damaged area and work from there to patch it. Any thoughts? Better ideas? Had the feeder house off atleast 8 years ago but can't remember just how long it took us to get it apart.
