Subject: RE: Net wrap vs. twine tie balers

Little River, TX
With Net it is possible to put 30 bales an hour out the back, with string tie the upper limit is in the 20 bales an hour range. Resulting in a lower total cost per bale out the back, even though the cost per hour will be slightly more.

Look where the baler stopped to tie and there will be a larger pile of leaves under where the string tie was made. If you try to bale with the humidity, and watch the bale moisture you can put more bales on the ground during the optimal humidity times.

In theory Net bales will store better than string tie. I understand there is very little difference if you use enough string.

This from someone who hires round baling done but puts up my own small square bales.
