Northeast Ohio
I was thinking about getting a 3000 Kinze 6rn planter with interplant's. Just wondering if you guys who already have them are happy with them? Do they do a good job of no-tilling? Would you get anything different on it than what you have? Thanks

We have a 6/11 3000.and like it alike. Make sure you get 4 down pressure spring on each unit. Ours only came with 2 so this year we added 2 more and helped alot.

If you are getting fertilizer on it, spend the extra money and get the HD single disk openers, not the notched single disk.

I notice that you have row cleaners front and back. How do you keep the back row from covering up the fronts?

IMO, the beans grow up through the little bit of trash that is thrown on the rows just fine. In fact, it often helps protect against crusting which can be a problem here.

I don't think you can put the heavy duty openers on if you have the interplants. If you are putting on fertilizer, I agree, skip the notched single disk Kinze's. Get ahold of some single disk Deere openers. I guy in Iowa makes brackets to mount Deere openers on Kinze's. His name escapes me at the moment. Hopefully someone else knows who I am talking about.

I'm pretty sure you can put the Kinze HD openers on a 3000 with interplants. If you are running the OEM Kinze coulter/floating row cleaner combo you will just need to put row unit setback kits on the back rows to make it work.

Bought one without interplant. It has the notched single disk on for the liquid fertilizer. It also has the depth kit with the fertilizer units, which have created a ridging problem in worked ground. Works fine if notilling. The problem is when planting soybeans. Almost have to roll them. So if I was doing over, I would;nt get that depth kit, if that is an option. Good luck.

We are 100% No-till. I have a 3000 Double Frame like Sparrell's. The only complaint I have it doesn't like many curves. If you plant on contours I would not get the double frame. Other than that I love the planter.

Martinsville, Ohio
I have friends who wore out 3000's with the Martin system on the corn rows and everything but the trash wheels on the interplants that did a fantastic job notilling early when the soil is tacky. No coulters.

I would sure own one, other comments I agree with.
