| I seems to me that one should honor the signed contract even if he has to buy the physical grain to fill the contract. However, the elevator is in the grain business and they will sell nthat wheat to someone else. It seems like the producer has an unfortunate circumstance and should be able to buy the same bushels back at the same rate another enduser would have to pay for it. It should be a fair an equitable contract reversal with appropriate margins built in. However, it should not be a punitive treatment for the producer. You would think the producer could resell the contract to someone else. | |
