NW Ohio | Quite a change from the 9510!! I had a little time before dark to get the new-to-us combine and head out of the barn. It makes me a little uncomfortable not knowing the machine very well. I was going to run through the calibration procedures for the head. I got an ER91 code (flex/belt center header height sensor less than .5VDC) when doing the header calibration. So, I tried the contour master angle calibration and got the ER25 (countour master left angle sensor greater than 2.5 VDC). I didn't see in the owner's manual where these sensors are located. I didn't feel like getting a flash light cause it was getting dark, so I haven't searched on the machine. I didn't try anything else. I did find out that the head is locked up for wheat. Does that matter? I didn't see in the manual where it couldn't be during calibrations. We put in the small wire concaves the other day. Not as quick or as fun as I had hoped! But, the first time should probably be the worst. Looking for some guidance on the calibrations and error codes and any other helpful hints. TIA

Do you have the platform locked solid. That is when I get those codes.

Modena, Wisconsin | The center height sensor should be on the right end of the head. There are two of them there. It is just a small black potentiometer. The only one for contour master should be under the feeder house I think. I have a RAHCO leveler but it uses contour master sensors and that is where it is located. I would think the head would have to be unlocked for the head cal on the center sensor. Never lock the head here so not sure.

NW Ohio | Yes, the head is locked up right now. I figured that out just before putting it away. I'll unlock it tomorrow and try it again.

West Union, Illinois | You think it's a big change from a 9510, try coming from a 2166. I gave my son-in-law the operator's manual and said "There you go." I went to move it the other day and had to get out the manual to figure out how to unlock the parking brake. I'm pretty sure you have to have it ... I'll say unlocked but that probably isn't the JD term ... to calibrate the head. We cut a field Friday that I know from years of experience would take about all day with the 2166 and 20 ft head. At 12:55 we pulled in the field with the 9660 with 630 Hydraflex. At 4:55 we had the head on the trailer and were going down the road. It made a Crop | Mike that's pretty much what Dad did when we went from the Gleaner F to an Axial Flow 1660. As far as I know he's never even sat in the Operator's seat of the 1660 or 1666 we have now.

NW Ohio | got it working! Unbolting the platform from the wheat position took care of the one code. I found that the sensor cable came off of the ball end on the contour master error code. Thanks! I can only imagine what it would be like to run another color of combine because I doubt that I'll ever get a different color. The last IH that I ran was a 403 (I think) with a 13 ft head back when I was about 12.
