I would not farm without crop insurance just to much risk to take on by myself. Pay the premium and get a Yield Guarantee of 65% of your average production and this year the higher prices made the guarantee more attractive. So far I have lost about 100 acres to flooding and am glad I have the crop insured. I did not think the FSA liked it very well if you don't carry at least the minimum level of crop insurance
