Somerville, Indiana | here they 'wash' the contract if the market is equal or below the contracted price. an Act of God can come in and change that somewhat but usually it is understood the contract needs to be filled with grain or moneys paid for the difference if the elevator is short as the elevator has passed our contract on to their buyer.
I vote for letting the new operator assume delivery on your contract. Probably won't interest him much though.
Sold the basis to another farmer and paid me the difference doesn't exist in Hoosier language.
