Subject: RE: Wheat futures on Fire - another lesson

Somerville, Indiana
to never forward contract an entire crop, as far a bushels, acres on specialty crops are another consideration entirely. No one can predict what grain will be at delivery time, as so much is determined by what the traders believe-not what the traders know. Always remember last year was last year, and not this year. In grain marketing, history seldom repeats itself to any great accuracy=leastwise to enough accuracy to guarantee us a profit.

and by the way.....

who the he77 things 4$ a bushel is a high price for growing and delivering #2 corn to the elevator? The buyer? If so he better get his ducks in the wagon cause inputs are going to be following grain as it climbs the ladder. Remember the no till conference when Dwayne said we would be making less money at 4$ corn that we would at 2.50$? Its been a 'while' since he made that statement, inputs were a lot lower then, he was banned for a year or so but hopefully now he is back for the 'duration'. He is definitely an asset to the conference, we leave remembering everything he said.
