Mount Joy, PA | After running a few hours and under a load, the engine misses and acts like it's running out of fuel. Replacing the fuel filters didn't help, we also made sure the tank outlet wasn't plugged. The deere dealer was out and replaced two fuel injection control valves, one suction and one pressure ? Still didn't fix the problem. When at its worst , we pulled the fuel filters and noticed the filter on the pressure side of the lift pump was only 2/3rd full and the one one the suction side was just barely full. The Deere dealer had a lift pump in stock , will try that in the morning . Just wondering if we should have a plan be B incase this don't fix the problem. When the dealer hooked up their laptop , it showed low fuel pressure. Any thought s or suggestions? would be appreciated. Thanks ! Ed Forgot to mention , its a 2006 with common rail injection Edited by jrscsllc 6/6/2011 22:36

NESD | Follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the fuel filter, I have found several that were clamped in such a way that the fuel line was pinched and restricted.

Mount Joy, PA | The operator said he checked that by taking the fuel line off the first filter and fuel came out with no problems, I did not see it for myself. Thanks, will need to double check that in the morning. What do you think about the lift pump ? Does that sound like a possible solution ? Or would it be all go or no go ? t

east central, Iowa | could also be a bad or dirty injector. I had two bad in my 8130.

East Central Alberta | Had one sprayer with fuel problems, it was a sticky ball in the tank vent. Sprayer would run good for a while, then lose power. Figured it out when it would run fine with the fuel cap loose. (put a rag around the loosened cap). Then took the vent apart, and found out the check ball was sticky.

Mount Joy, PA | We ran a few hours with the cap very loose and it still ended up missing, The dealer ordered a new vent thinking that might have been the problem, I was hoping it was that easy. Still searching, Thanks

Lethbridge, AB | On the 4920 there is also a strainer ahead of the fuel filters that gave me trouble this spring, replaced it and fixed the problem. Koos

Oregon | Ditto beetboy. I went through everything on our 4930 last winter and left the strainer alone figuring, why would that have any problems? Sure enough, first thing that needed attention this season was the strainer I had failed to replace. But we just lost power, no missing- and we swapped it out right away. Seems like the dealer tech should be able to tell you right off the start what the fuel pressure is doing. -mike

Mount Joy, PA | I asked the dealer for all filters associated with the fuel system, he gave two filters and that strainer your talking about. The operator brought it back , said only the 49 series used that strainer. Does anyone know if there is a strainer on the 4720 somewhere ? Thanks

NESD | 4720 has a strainer in the tank. tank has to be drained and remove the fitting from the bottom of the tank that the line attaches to.
