north central Oklahoma
I have some friends who delivered some 43# grain Thursday. Local elevator not enthusiastic at all about potential. Won't be much storage income this year. I contracted local delivery less than 10K at $4.65, worried about delivery. Am now feeling like I finally did the right thing. I am 100 miles away from field, and have not seen the hail damage yet, but my nephew says very little damage in his opinion. I gave up on the combine this year and just hired it all cut. I'm still trying to get the destroyed corn acres replanted, it's been too dang wet to do anything. Have close to 1500 acres summer crops to plant and some custom work too. Just can't do it all, so chose to stay hooked to the tractor and let someone else harvest. If it starts to get late for milo here (would like to get it in ground by the 15th) I may shift back to July corn. What a year.
